Watercolors
Painting in watercolurs was a natural progression from my sojourn with Sumi-e, as I wanted to introduce more colour into my work. Watercolors have a unique beauty.
Whether mixed intentionally or accidentally, the translucent colours blend into each other to create a freshness that emerges through each layer of paint. This water-based medium can often be challenging for beginners as it is difficult to rectify mistakes. But once mastered, it can be effectively used to create light and fresh, yet vibrant paintings.

My very first water color painting under the tutelage of the inimitable and lovely Patricia Al Fakhri. Much gratitude to her and the way she guided me steering me back to adding details and depth to bring the painting up to a quality that made it sell at the opening of the DIAC annual exhibition back in 2000!! And thus began the journey!
